The year 2019 marks the seventieth anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. To celebrate this special occasion, the Tsinghua University Art Museum is hosting the special exhibition “Everlasting like the Heavens—The Cultures and Arts of the Zhou, Qin, Han, and Tang.” The exhibition theme was drawn from a classical Han-dynasty auspicious phrase, symbolizing a prosperous future of the People’s Republic of China and the passing down of China’s traditional culture from generation to generation. The exhibition period was set as ninety-nine days, implying the number of “double-nine in harmony with the heavenly way,” and the “great dynamic of double-nine, in accordance with the ending and beginning of the heavens.”
This exhibition is through December 17, 2019.
